About Hybrid Homes
Building a passion for over 30 years.
Founded in 2005, Hybrid Homes has used their experience and diverse project history to consult and build with individuals and organizations looking to create the better homes of tomorrow. Since starting his first business from the ground-up, founder and builder Jeff Combelic, he has worked for over 30 years to create buildings that exist in harmony with our Earth, while designing homes that improve home-owners’ lives.
Jeff Combelic is founder of New Age Shelters (1980), JDC Construction (1984), and has worked The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Jeff has now dedicated his work and passion to pioneering passive solar homes under the name Hybrid Homes. Of his many projects, his most notable is the erection and reassemble of The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse.
Working for a better home—and world.
With the recent advent of significant rebates, mass production of photovoltaic panels, advances in insulation techniques, and home energy research the ultimate solar house have finally become possible.
In the 1990s, we pioneered the construction of passive solar "glass and mass" homes that typically cost 40% less to heat than normal houses of same size. Given the projected political climate and public demand, possibilities are endless.
Our greatest vision would be to transform whole subdivisions, by developing cost-effective geothermal (backup) heating, constructive wetland sewer treatment systems, light poles with electric windgenerating propellers, larger wind turbines for collective power, and other ecoconscious features.
